Hello Sebastian,
We realise that the PID logic has its limitations, and you seem to have
run into an example where it takes refining to make it behave well. We
are heading towards a command channel for the enforcer to replace this
sort of problem. Meanwhile, there is an advantage to knowing that
something goes wrong (getting stuck raises your attention) but if this is
a problem to you, you could maybe use ps in the loop, to ensure that the
Enforcer is actually alive and well. Sounds like a recipe for race
conditions, though.
More importantly, did you actually encounter this problem? We've been
running this ods-control version for weeks without running into it. If
your enforcer dies, that would make a very interesting bug report. What
you are reporting here is more a symptom than the actual problem itself,
right?
Cheers,
-Rick
