 If the memory usage is 100% (of physical memory and swap) it explains why
 it takes 20 minutes to exit since it would need to swap in all the memory
 to free it.

 Exit(0) might work but it would be nice to confirm if in fact its a
 problem with too much swap usage and then maybe look at how we can handle
 millions of entries without having large amount of memory.
