 Trying again showed that this *did* work with --with-ldns=/usr/lib64 so my
 memory must have been clouded.

 The only remaining _minor_ issue is that LDNS reports the library paths,
 and these are ignored in the ./configure script.  The variable $LDNS_LIBS
 is not included in the line

 LIBS="-ldns $LIBS"
 }}}
