Comment:

 We discussed this in our last meeting.  The problem can also occur when
 replacing RPMs, which is a more serious case.  It is not serious or
 difficult enough to warrant a new release, but it has been fixed in trunk
 and is therefore (a) available and (b) heading for future releases.
