the design was that zonelist.xml is the master copy of the zonelist and it's synced into the kasp database upon update, just as the KASP. the alternate, i.e. you update via the kasp database and then export zonelist.xml and kasp.xml was the exception.

I'm note I like to change this. I do see the benefit of having the command line tools add zones and dump what's added to the zonelist.xml, but changing the "master" is IMHO not good when it comes to integration with other tools (like Men&Mice).
